Ryan is an experienced commercial trial lawyer who represents clients in complex civil disputes and “bet the company” matters across industries and in multiple disciplines, including antitrust, breach of contract, class action, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and trade secrets litigation. His recent trial work includes successfully defending PharmaCann, Inc. against claims by a purported investor and bookrunner seeking tens of millions of dollars in equity, and representing Dish Wireless in an eight-figure cell tower contract dispute. Ryan has been recognized by Best Lawyers as among the “Ones to Watch” for the last two years.
Ryan earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude, and has a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law from the University of Richmond. Before rejoining Davis Polk, where he worked as an associate from 2016-2018, Ryan served as a clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and later as a partner at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP in their commercial litigation group.
