Session: Associate Lifecycle: The Legal Industry’s Take on Corporate Alumni Strategy
Phil Sanford is an experienced marketer, brand manager and program director with over a decade of experience in corporate alumni management. With a marketing and brand design background, Phil joined the Employer Brand team at JPMorgan Chase in 2014, launching and then managing the global Alumni Network until 2021. From 2021 – 2024, Phil served in a client relations and product role for EnterpriseAlumni, helping large Financial Services, Professional Services, Law Firms and Retail companies strategize their own alumni programs. In this role, Phil worked directly with Alumni leaders, Program managers, Chief Human Resource and Marketing Officers, CEOs and Founders in bringing their respective alumni program visions to life.
After three years of partnering with global brands to set their alumni strategy, Phil made his own move “in-house” and joined Freshfields in 2024 to lead their global alumni efforts. This includes the strategy and build-out of a net-new alumni program, and a joint-venture Alumni & Career Services program in the U.S.
Phil holds a B.A. in Communications from the State University of New York at Purchase College, and M.B.A. in Marketing from Iona University. He and his wife have three sons (6y, 4y, 1y).
